Pilates Reformer Classes in Glen Ellyn
Small group Pilates reformer classes to feel your best!
With no more than six students in a class, our small group classes provide personalized attention to help you meet your wellness goals. Our experienced teachers will support you and offer options to advance the exercise or modify as needed.
We offer two different styles of classes to meet your needs! (new classes names effective 1.5.2026)
Pilates FORM:
Strength starts here - no matter how long you’ve been practicing! Pilates FORM focuses on precision, breath, and core engagement to help you move more efficiently and powerfully in every aspect of your life (and in every Pilates class you take). You will work deeply, build strong movement patterns, and refine your technique. This class is perfect for:
- Newer clients building confidence with the equipment
- Experienced clients who want to strengthen their knowledge of Pilates principles and move with greater control
- Anyone who wants to feel MORE connected, MORE aware, and MORE strong where it matters
NOTE - If you are new to the Reformer, we recommend starting with our Beginner Series or our Introductory Private Sessions to ensure you are confident and prepared. Already have experience? You will still find plenty of opportunities to challenge yourself — our teachers will offer progressions to help you level up safely.
Pilates FORM (Therapeutic) -This specialized Pilates FORM class is designed for those who may have felt Pilates wasn’t accessible due to a hip replacement, shoulder injury, chronic condition, or other physical limitations. With an emphasis on safe, mindful movement, you’ll receive supportive variations and expert guidance to help you build strength, mobility, and confidence. This class is open to everyone - whether you are working with limitations or simply looking to deepen your body awareness. Though the pace is slower, the work is still deeply strengthening and can offer a refreshing challenge for experienced students looking to refine their practice in a new way.
Pilates FLOW:
Pilates FLOW is where your practice gets to play. Pilates FLOW offers a more dynamic, continuous style of movement that builds endurance, coordination, and full-body strength while honoring the Pilates method.
In this class, you will:
- Move through creative, flowing sequences
- Explore layered variations and more complex choreography
- Challenge your strength, stability, and focus
FLOW is ideal for:
- Clients with a consistent practice on the Pilates Reformer
- Those who enjoy a steady, athletic pace
- Clients ready for layered challenge and more complex movement
- FLOW is designed for clients with a solid understanding of Pilates exercises and safe movement patterns. Clients must be comfortable keeping pace with continuous movement.
Permission Required for FLOW:
- To protect your safety and experience, we request clients to secure permission before attending a Pilates FLOW class.
- This ensures that you feel confident, prepared, and fully supported in a more dynamic class setting.
Pilates Equipment Classes
This dynamic small group workout combines precise movements and resistance training on specialized equipment including reformer, tower, and chair. Feel your core engage, muscles tone, and posture improve as you lengthen and strengthen with every session. Pilates leads to daily life improvements such as better posture, graceful and efficient movement, and relief from pain associated with physical imbalances. Our teachers will provide variations and modifications, ensuring that you progress at your own pace while also challenging yourself.
Why we love pilates at Balance!
Like yoga, Pilates is a mind and body practice that emphasizes the importance of proper breathing during movement and can improve both strength and flexibility. They are wonderful compliments to each other and they even share some similar exercises! The focus in Pilates is on the core of the body so that the rest of your body can move freely. Pilates has many of the same goals in mind, but one major difference between Pilates and yoga is that in addition to mat work, different equipment can be incorporated like the reformer, chair, and cadillac.
I have been a client of this studio since its beginning. I can't say enough about the community and the beautiful people who lead classes and provide training. PIlates classes here have been the single best anti-aging decision I have made.

“I am grateful to have discovered Pilates Reformer classes at Balance. I tried a less expensive Pilates Reformer club and quickly realized the higher value of the equipment and level of instruction at this studio. With no more than six students in a reformer class, students benefit from continuous coaching and feedback. The vibe is professional and welcoming. The equipment is pristine. The team meets me where I am each step of the way in my wellness journey.”
