Christine White - Massage
Christine is a licensed massage therapist who earned her 600+ hour certification in Portland, Oregon, in 2004. Her training focused primarily on Western massage techniques, including Swedish, deep tissue, sports massage, trigger point therapy, and myofascial release. She takes a whole-body approach to massage, observing patterns of holding and pain that can restrict movement and create compensations elsewhere in the body.
Christine believes that each body is different. Our life experiences and the demands we place on our bodies - both positive and negative - shape how we move and feel. Her goal is to help clients live as pain-free as possible while continuing to do the activities they love, with minimal restriction to mobility. She believes this is best achieved through a balance of therapeutic massage, self-care, and increased body awareness.
Throughout her career, Christine has worked closely with physical therapists, chiropractors, and fitness, yoga, and Pilates professionals. She also brings personal athletic experience to her work, having competed as an elite-level cyclist and marathon runner for many years. Today, she enjoys strength training, practicing yoga, and spending time in nature. Combined with the guidance of her mentors and teachers, these experiences have given Christine a deep understanding of both efficient and inefficient biomechanics in training, daily movement, and life.
To schedule an appointment with Christine, please contact her directly. Christine sees clients at Balance on Mondays.
